I have for many years been a fan of comedy and especially so of what I consider to be the classics. This includes the golden age of Ealing comedies from the Ealing Studios and people such as Stanley Holloway, Max Miller, Tommy Trinder, Arthur Askey and other of that ilk.
The last few months I’ve taken to listening to some wonderful comedy radio classics over on BBC Radio 7. The beauty of it all is that the previous six days broadcasts are available on line if you’ve missed any of the shows. Just hit the listen again page. I usually play catch up and listen to the lot over a couple of sessions.
If you only ever listen to one show then please listen to The Goon Show. :roflmao:
Here’s the current weekly classic comedy running order.
Monday. The Goon Show.
Tuesday. Hancock’s Half Hour.
Wednesday. Round The Horne.
Thursday. The Navy Lark.
Friday. Dad’s Army.
Saturday. The Men from the Ministry.
Sunday. All Gas and Gaiters and The Clitheroe Kid.
There has been some serious stuff on the jukebox this past week.
Buzzcocks – Spiral Scratch and Times Up.
Clash – Vanilla Tapes and From London To Jamaica.
Buzzcocks, Clash, Pistols – Midnight Special At Screen On The Green.
