\o/ The Linux client is now available for the Quake3 in yer web browsah thingummybob dodahwhotsit. 
I took me the better part of 20 minutes trying to sign up as every nick I picked was already registered, pah!
Finally got sorted nick wise and went through the rest of the online registration/install procedure. Basically its a small firefox extension and all the pak files get installed locally in /home/’accountname’/.quakelive , about 300 meg in all.
If you know your way around a Q3 config in a text editor then you can drop your own in the baseq3 dir. Seems to work here and has boosted my frame rate 100% over the in browser settings.
All I have to do now is learn the maps. A to Z anyone?
