This was never going to be anything other than a draw bar a miracle thanks to the weather. Yet again Broads bowling was poor. Considering he’s in the side as a bowler his runs are a bonus. To win tests you have to take 20 wickets so all the runs in the world are a waste of time.
Nice to see Fred in the runs again with an entertaining 70 odd but other than that he did get anything with the ball.
I do have to say though that it was just down right bad manners when Ponting came out to bat and was welcomed by a chorus of booing. Bad form.
Headingly on Friday for the 4th test and by all accounts the weather forecast isn’t good for for saturday. 
So what will the side be?
I’d bring Ryan in for Broad, drop Bopara, move Bell to 3rd in the order, stick Trot at 4th. The selection of Harmison is purely down to whether or not Fred is fit.
